From Sedentary to Strong: My Path to Becoming Physically Fit in 2023 PART 1
It's astounding how swiftly 2023 has unfolded, almost as if the days melted into one another. Starting from the crisp dawn of January, the calendar pages turned, and now, surprisingly, it's already September. Nevertheless, this blog is dedicated to documenting my path towards achieving physical fitness – my personal fitness journey.
Here I stand, weighing 61 kgs on September 4, 2023, marking the beginning of my gym journey. I'll admit, discipline hasn't fully set in yet, and I still find myself searching for that daily dose of motivation to hit the gym. Countless excuses have tempted me, from cozying up in bed to indulging in movie marathons or binge-watching series. I've even used my menstrual cycle as an excuse to skip the gym, and even when it ended, I hesitated, thinking I lacked the right workout attire or the funds for a coach. But in reality, I've been sidetracked by the captivating world of Valorant, all while snacking and giving in to procrastination.
As September 17, 2023 approaches, my determination to fully embrace this fitness journey intensifies. I'm committed to transforming into the person I aspire to be. The past few years, beginning with the pandemic in 2020, have seen me leading a largely sedentary lifestyle. The chronic lack of motivation to free myself from the comforts of my bed has left me physically inactive, and I'm determined to change that.
To be honest, my level of endurance has significantly declined especially on walking the stairs of our house became so hard. There used to be a time when I could walk for hours without feeling fatigued, climb walls, and tackle uphill treks with ease. Back then, I would only break a sweat. However, in my present condition, even a few minutes of walking leaves my heart feeling strained, and each step is a struggle. I notice that my breathing becomes strained, and my heart races faster than its usual pace. Simple activities now induce pain in my body where it once didn't.
Therefore, I'm eager to wholeheartedly dedicate myself to this fitness journey, as this blog revolves around self-reinvention and a fresh start in life. I believe it's a great idea to share my fitness progress with my readers, if there happen to be any.
Thank you for joining me on the first leg of my fitness journey in Part 1. If you're curious to see how the rest of my transformation unfolds, stay tuned for Part 2, where I'll share more progress, challenges, and the lessons I've learned along the way. Together, we'll continue this adventure towards a stronger, healthier me.
