Cubo De Bernardo ( My POV)

Our Cubo De Bernardo Staycation

Jem invited me to go to La Union for me to be able to take a break from the mother life, but given our history. I wanted to tag my cousins along. I found a huge discounted cottage that is good for 6 pax yet amounted to 2500/night which compared to other rooms was a bit affordable. 

I contacted them and they informed me that they weren't available since they we're working and I told them I wanted to come with them since I was upset that I wasn't available when they went to Puerto Galera. 

I really want them to tag along but they weren't really available and because I understand how hard it is to be working. I understand the situation but they did informed me that instead of going to LU or PG, how about we look for a staycation instead for a different date. 

After numerous of tiktok post, while on videocall. We have come to a decision to book Cubo De Bernardo. 

Originally, we we're entice by the 3,799 pesos for 4 pax. I messaged the page and had a long conversation with the page. Extra pax cost 500 for 8 years old and up and breakfast is also included. 

We we're about to book 4,799, good for 6 pax and a downpayment of 2,400 is required but upon confirming if it has it's own pool. We we're informed that Main Kubo uses the public pool while the Big Kubo for 6 pax with complimentary breakfast amounted to 5,999 pesos. 

Because we wanted to fully enjoy our stay, we chose the big kubo option and the dp to reserve is 3,000 pesos. 

Our first option is on September 23, 2023 but since the dates was already blocked, we chose the next available date that is good for all of us which is on September 30 2023.

It's already a good date since Ate Jet's birthday is on september 29,2023. 

We wanted one of our girl cousin to join however when we asked her, she said she wasn't available so we we're sure that only 6 of us will attend. 

I had numerous of questions such as:

If  they have ref or cooking utensils? Is there a free use of the kitchen. 

They did sent me a photo with FAQ's that answered most of my questions. 

I quickly calculated how much our ambagan would be and it cost all of us around 

1,250 pesos

1000 for the Cubo 

250 for food & alcohol

We needed at least 3,000 pesos so I took 500 pesos from each one of them so we could reserve it. 

So, when all of them sent me the money already, I reserved the place already. 

Since me and Jeremy will be commuting and my cousin and their partners will be riding motorcycle. I immediately asked how to commute and they answered promptly. 

as the days passed by, when the days nearing our staycation. I bought foods for our staycation and since I came from Baguio days before. I brought broccoli and potatoes  and garlic and onion in Baguio which is a bit affordable rather in buying in Metro Manila or in Cavite. 

I bought Cadbury, Goya, opuffs marshmallows for the bonfire experience. 

On the day of the staycation, I noticed that we might not be able to buy the cake in time an prepare for the room for our surprise so instead of us buying the food, I decided to give the task to Ate Jet and her boyfriend to buy us some time to prepare. 

We rode a bus from Buendia (DLTB) going to Tagaytay / Nasugbu and said to drop us off at Acienda amounted to 90 for student and 113 for non student.

When we arrived, we quickly toured Acienda Silang to check Nike size so I can order from my cousin, online unfortunately it was till under renovation, we checked the other stores but we we're really looking forward to Nike. 

We then walked to the left,  beside the Shell station, there are tricycles that will transport us to the Cubo. We spent 30 pesos per pax on our way. 

When we arrived, we rang the doorbell. They opened the gates for us and we told them that we already have a reservation, they confirmed our booking. Asked me to write the name of the others. They wanted to help carry our bags but we insisted in bringing it on our own. They then assisted us by showing us the place which is different from the other room. I noticed a lot but in this blog post, I won't have any comments first. 

Since we did mentioned before hand that it was for a surprise, we saw that there was a birthday greeting that greeted us once we saw the Cubo and we asked help in hiding it to a different room. Long story short, we prepared the room for the surprise. 

Ate Jet arrived and we met his boyfriend. He was a nice fellow and a friendly one indeed. I see that my cousin loves him so much and he loves my cousin as well so I approved of their relationship as someone who loves Ate Jet and don't want anyone hurting her. 

Anyways, I already told them that the room wasn't available and Ate Jet unfortunately entered the room by accident so the surprise was spoiled but it was still a funny experience. So we discussed how we will pretend she didn't know anything so Raen will be the one to be surprised. 

We got hungry, we started cooking and eating the food while waiting for Raen & Jemmy to arrive.

They arrived and we continued with the cake surprise. Long story short. The day ended and we're all happy. We played cards. Drank alcohol. We stayed near the bonfire. Took photos. Laugh the night out. 

Next morning, we got the free breakfast and we ate what was left the night before. We swam in their swimming pool and then prepared for check out. Once we checked out, we decided to eat at Wow 199 Unli Samgyupsal  and then afterwards we spent our goodbyes.
